Social Value in Action
Through our business sponsorship of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, we support environmental initiatives and raise awareness of the impact of pollution and waste across our site teams and supply chain.
At Sugar Hill Close, we hosted a group of 20 postgraduate planning students from Leeds Beckett University, studying the site as part of their housing and urban regeneration module.
Through a Christmas collection, we delivered donations including non-perishable food, festive treats and everyday essentials to Hope Newsome Foodbank, supporting local families during the festive period.
Our teams donated 18 pallets of bricks to the EN:ABLE Futures NHBC Humber Construction Hub, supporting bricklaying apprentices with hands-on training and helping to create future employment opportunities within the construction industry.
Through our partnership with EN:ABLE Futures, we provide a range of office and site-based roles, including design, technical, site management, commercial and administrative positions, supporting individuals to gain practical experience and develop careers within the construction industry.
At Mill Meadows, our team donated £250 to Filey Lifeboats, our chosen site charity, supporting their vital lifesaving services and helping them continue to provide emergency response and assistance to those in need along the local coastline.
In October 2023, our Social Value Manager delivered an interactive session to third-year construction students at Sheffield Hallam University, focusing on the importance of social value and helping to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice.
At Sugar Hill, we collaborated with Leeds Federated Housing Association to deliver a vibrant mural on the site hoarding, designed by Alice Needham-Pearmain in partnership with children from Windmill Youth Club, celebrating wellbeing, home and community while enhancing the site and engaging local residents.
At St Swithin’s Drive, we hosted a fundraising day for local charity Levi’s Star, raising over £250 through a staff raffle and dress-down initiative to support children and families affected by brain tumours.
