New Project Award: Rawsons Wood, Sowerby Bridge
Termrim is proud to have broken ground this month on Rawsons Wood — a 30-home affordable housing scheme for Together Housing Group, delivered as part of the Calderdale Together Investment Partnership (CTHIP). The site was previously home to an extra care scheme, demolished back in 2018, and its regeneration marks a significant milestone for the area.
Having supported the design development stage, we're now leading construction in close collaboration with Acanthus WSM Architects, OEC Consulting Engineers Ltd, and CPC Project Services, to deliver this high-performing, low-carbon scheme on a brownfield site bordered by ecologically sensitive woodland.
Each home has been designed to achieve an EPC A rating, supporting Together Housing's commitment to futureproofed, sustainable communities. Three of the 30 homes will also feature enhanced accessibility features, including level-access showers, wider parking bays and hoist-ready infrastructure.
Key features include:
Air source heat pumps
Thermal hot water storage
Enhanced insulation
PV panels with battery storage
EV charging points & A-rated appliances
As sustainable technologies become the norm, we remain committed to helping clients adopt and deliver low-carbon solutions that meet future housing standards.
The scheme is funded by Homes England and delivered through EN:Procure's 4th Generation New Build Housing Framework, with a strong emphasis on generating meaningful social value throughout the build. It is also registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
Mark Dunford, Executive Director of Finance and Commercial at Together Housing, said: "We're pleased to be working with Calderdale Council once again to increase the supply of affordable housing at such a critical time when demand for affordable, high-quality homes continues to grow across Calderdale and the wider region."
Having previously delivered the nearby Rooley Heights development, we're delighted to return to Sowerby Bridge to help bring forward this next chapter in affordable housing for Calderdale.
