Hart Street, Newsome

Termrim Construction delivered 22 affordable homes for Yorkshire Housing at Hart Street, Newsome, Huddersfield, comprising a mix of two- and three-bedroom houses for affordable rent. The scheme was secured through the Innovation Chain North (ICN) Framework.

Appointed following the previous contractor’s administration, Termrim assumed responsibility for a partially completed brownfield development and recommenced works in March 2025, completing in Spring 2026.

The site, located within a constrained residential area on land formerly occupied by disused mill ponds, required careful logistics coordination and sensitive community management. Remediation works, ground re-profiling and surface water infrastructure were delivered alongside new-build housing to ensure long-term durability and compliance with planning requirements.

Working collaboratively with Yorkshire Housing and the professional team, Termrim prioritised quality, safety and community engagement throughout delivery. Social value delivery included local employment alongside community initiatives including a foodbank campaign supporting Hope Newsome and a financial contribution to Kirklees Youth Academy.
